Raheem Shaquille Sterling was born on 8th December 1994 in Kingston, Jamaica to mother Mrs. Nadine Sterling and an unknown father. When he was 5 years old he emigrated to England with his mother and attended Copland school in London.
At his early years, he joined academy of Queen Park Rangers. He was then signed by Liverpool in February 2010. For two years he played for the youth team of Liverpool and finally made his senior league debut in a match against Wigan Athletic aged just 17 years and 107 days becoming third youngest Liverpool player to make league debut.

On 17th October he scored his first hattrick as City beat Bournemouth 5 -1.

Before making his debut for the senior team Sterling played in the various youth ranks for England which included Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 football. He was also included in England's squad to feature in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. He also started in England's opening match against Italy in a 2-1 loss.
