Introduction

Patrick John McEnroe was born on July 1, 1966, in Manha s set, Town of North Hempstead, New York, United States. He is a former tennis player and captain of the United States Davis Cup Team.

Patrick holds an American nationality and fall in white ethnicity. He has a younger brother named John McEnroe.

Education and career

At a very young age Patrick McEnroe has started playing tennis and at the Port Washington Tennis Academy he was taught to play tennis. As junior he reached the semifinals of Wimbledon. In 1984 he partnered with Luke Jensen and won Clay Court and French Junior doubles and USTA Boy's 18.

In the same year, Patrick McEnroe made his impact on the professional tour by teaming up with his brother and won the doubles title at Virginia.

In 1987 at Pan American Games Patrick won Men's Doubles medal with Jensen. In 1986 and 1988 he also helped Stanford University to with the NCAA team championship. During at the Stanford, Patrick McEnroe was one of the members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon. 

In 1988 from the Stanford completed his graduation with a degree in political science. After completing the graduation, Patrick McEnroe joined the profession a tennis tour.

Patrick McEnroe won the French Open Men's Double title as well as the Masters Double title along with Jim Grabb in 1989. At Chicago, in 1991 his first singles finale came where he faced his brother. At the 1991 Australian Open, Patrick McEnroe performed single and reached the semi- finals and got knocked out by the champion Boris Becker.

At the Australian Open, along with his former teammate David Wheaton, Patrick became runner-up at the men's doubles. In the year 1998, he retired from the professional tour.

In 1993, 1994 and in 1996 Partick represented his country in the Davis Cup as a doubles player. After his brother resigned as Captain he was named as the 38th Caption of the United States Davis Cup Team. In 2010 Patrick resigned from the position and he was the longest captain of the team.

At the USTA Player development, Partick McEnroe became the General Manager in 2008.  It was a series of mandates that aimed at promoting junior tennis. As a Head of Player Development for the USTA, he relieved his duties on 3rd September 2014.

Distinctions and Honors

In 1993 he was ranked number 3, the highest in his double's career. Then, a couple of year later, he was ranked 28 in the world ranking, the best in his single's career. 

Personal life

Patrick McEnroe first known affair was with an American television personality Sonja Morgan. After that, he had an affair with an American tennis player named Stacy Margolin. The couple began dating in 1976 and broke up after 5 years of relationship in 1981.

In the same year, Stacy Margolin started seeing an American model named Lisa Taylor; even this relationship did not last long and the couple broke up in the same year. He then dated a girl named Stella hIll for two years from 1982 to1984.

In the year 1984, Stacy Margolin married Tatum O'Neal, an American actress. The couple began dating since December 1984 and got married on 1st August 1986. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last longer and only after seven years of marriage the couple divorced in June 1994.

The couple has three children together among them two are the son and a daughter named Kevin, Sean and Emily respectively. 

After the divorce, he dated an American musician named Chrissie Hynde. He has currently married an American Musician named Patty Smyth.

The couple began dating in December 1993 and after dating for 3 years and 4 months they married in April 1997. In Hollywood, marriage does not last longer but the couple is lucky that they are married for 19 years. The couple has two daughters together named Anna and Ava respectively.
