English Premier League leader Manchester City has been approaching the German professional footballer and FC Bayern Munich's right back Joshua Kimmich for next season.
Kimmich had played under City's current manager Pep Guardiola while he was in the Munich and Pep has been keeping eyes on him since then. The City want's to welcome the right back next summer, but the 22-year old doesn't seem interested in the deal.
According to The Sun, Kimmich's contract with the Bundesliga leader ends in 2020, and he seems quite determined to complete the agreement.
His agent, Uli Ferber has confirmed that the player is currently engaged in contract talks at the Allianz Arena. He told Sports Bild,
In the summer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge came to us for the first time to discuss whether we can extend our a s sociation.
He added,
We sat down together for the first time in the fall and will again one more time by the end of the year to lead the discussions. There is much to support an agreement given Kimmich's star has continued to rise.
Manchester City currently stands at the first in the EPL table with 34 points while the arch-rival United following City with 26 points. This season City has been doing well in the Champions League as well where it has advanced to the last 16.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the defender Kimmich would make the team stronger next season if he would agree to sign the contract with the City then.
