There is no duality in the fact that Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise’s couple was as dynamic as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s in the 90s. That’s the reason when this extraordinary couple parted ways; the world was stunned with awe. Now, after quite a while, Nicole lets something about the divorce out.
The couple’s marriage went a long way. They were together for 11 years and were no doubt a gem of a couple in Hollywood. The 48 year old said in an interview about that the reason they got so close and also what later led her to her ‘great love’ Keith Urban.
Nicole, towards revealing more about her relationship with the Mission Impossible star said that she was still a child during the time she married Tom. It was back in 1990 and her age then was only 23. They took a big decision back then- to adopt children. So, in 1992 they adopted Isabella Jane and son Connor in 1994. It was pretty much a child raising another back then.
Their relation, as described by Nicole, was a like a ‘bubble’ because with the sort of existence they had in Hollywood and the volume of their fame, it was just the two of them inside that bubble and it brought them real close.
Nicole revealed to Vanity Fair back in 2007 that from the very moment she and Tom were married, she wanted to have babies and that the early loss of a baby hit them very hard. This was what ended them up with the decision to go for an adoption and they got Isabella. Not being able to have a child with Tom got her worried.
Furthermore, the actress said to PEOPLE, “Children are children- you’ll die or your children. And when you feel that as a parent- that is the unconditional love”. Indeed, her love for her children is clearly manifested in her words.
After their divorce, Nicole revealed how she tried to recover herself. She did a lot of reading and a lot of talking and she managed through about 5 or 6 years before she happened to meet Keith Urban, her current husband.
“We got married very quickly and we got to know each other when we were married,” said Nicole reminiscing the 2006 wedding with Keith. “I wanted a partner and someone to share my life. I wanted more children. That's happened for me. It's not through just luck. I was open to it and willing to change and welcome the change I got to have a child when I was 41 and then we had a surrogate.” Nicole added reinforcing her decision of embracing a new relationship. Keith and Nicole have two children, Sunday and Faith.
Tom’s net worth is $470 million, Nicole stands with a net worth of $120 million and her new husband with a total worth of $75 million.
