An Indiana man was on a honeymoon to the Caribbean with his newlywed wife when they both went to visit the island of St. Kitts. On July 18, Clay and his wife Acaimie Chastain hiked up the dormant volcano Mount Liamuiga.
Clay decided to take things more interesting and hiked the volcano further for a better view, while Acaimie stayed behind. Suddenly, Clay lost his foot and fell into the volcano.
Horrified Acaimie had no choice but to follow the trail to Clay into the volcano after he fell. Luckily, she found Clay alive and managed to climb and walk her husband back down the mountain.

He suffered severe injuries including broken vertebrae, fractured skull, and loss of hearing in the right ear. He is convalescing in the hospital where his injuries have held him from flying back to the US.
Talking to Indianapolis Star, Clay said,
One second I'm climbing, the next second the world is spinning, and I can hear her calling down to me.
He further said his memory of the accident is a blur. Meanwhile, the new bride told the outlet that she freaked what she was going to find at the bottom while she went down the volcano in search for Clay.
A GoFundMe page has been created for the couple's medical expenses and transport to their home in Indiana.
