Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young’s longtime manager Elliot Roberts has died. He was 76 years old. The exact cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Neil has honored his longtime manager posting a touching tribute to his manager and friend for over half a century. He posted a tribute on his website on Saturday celebrating the central man who maintained his decades' long career in the musical industry.

Neil admitted that Elliot always thought and kept everyone else first and never thought of himself. He said:

That’s what he did for me for over fifty years of friendship love laughter, managing my life, protecting our art in the business of music. That’s what he did.

Neil also claimed that Elliot had always been devoted to his children from the beginning. He continued:

He would fly halfway around the world just to see his family for one day. That’s just the way he loved them. He was so happy with his soul-mate Dana. No matter where I was in the world, no matter his other obligations, he was always by the side of the stage as much as he could be.

Neil remembered his close friend admitting that he was the funniest human being on earth with his uncanny wit and heart filled with love and laugh.

Ending the post, Neil admitted that Elliot was his best friend in the world for many years.

Elliot, who was born Elliot Rabinowitz in 1943, managed the careers of the Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, and the Talking Heads and Devo.
