Miracle Does Happen; Laura Worsley Has Given Birth To Daughter Ivy After Thirteen Miscarriages.
Laura Worsley’s baby girl Ivy is a personal miracle baby for her and husband Dave after suffering thirteen miscarriages.
Laura and husband Dave welcomed their first child, nine months ago, after a hard and traumatic road to parenthood.
The couple from Kenilworth, England, detailed that Laura had her first miscarriage back in 2008 and was soon followed by three more miscarriages. When the couple went for looking at the answers of miscarriage, they found out that she was diagnosed with Antiphospholipid syndrome. The syndrome results in pregnancy loss.
Laura explained:
We were told a high dose of folic acid might sort it, but it didn’t. We took part in trials, did all the tests, and tried different medications, hoping something would work.
After undergoing many testing, doctors found out that Laura’s placenta had Chronic Histiocytic Intervillositis that causes the body to fight pregnancy.
Despite all those obstacles, the pair decided to try one more time with the help of Professor Siobhan Qunby. The doctor had helped her to get pregnant even after those syndromes successfully.
On their 14th try, the pair was able to conceive with the help of medication to improve her womb lining as well as steroids.
She gave birth just at 30 weeks via cesarean section and weighed only 1.7 lbs. The pair had to wait three more days before they could hold their daughter.
After staying at the hospital for eleven weeks, the miracle baby was released, and since then, she has been doing great in health being taken extreme care by her grateful parents.
Sharing the happy news with BBC News, Laura said:
Even now, nine months on, I can’t believe she’s actually mine.
Sharing the journey, Laura wanted to give others the hope and strength to carry on the things which even seems impossible.
