Singer Cheryl Cole And Former One Direction Member Liam Payne Split After A Two Year Of Relationship

Former One Direction vocalist Liam Payne and his girlfriend Cheryl decided to end their relationship after two and a half year-long together. The former Girl Aloud star, 35, and Payne, 24, broke two weeks ago.

The lovebirds confirmed their separation on social media on Sunday, 1 July saying they were sad and "it had been a tough decision." The couple also said they still had "so much love for each other as a family."

They share a son, Bear whom they welcomed in March 2017. Cheryl tweeted,

 

We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.

Singer Payne tweeted an identical post with his 33m followers.

The pair started dating in December 2015. They first met at the set of The X Factor in 2008 when she was a judge of the singing reality show, and he was there for an audition. At the time Payne was 14-year-old.

The couple made their appearance together in March this year at the Brit awards together midst the rumors of their split. Soon after the event, Payne admitted to "struggles" in their relationship. Their last appearance as a couple was at the annual music bash.

Before, Cheryl was married for twice. She first married former England and Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole. They married on 15 July 2006 and the couple divorced four years after their marriage in 2010. She married a French restauranteur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in July 2014 and separated just after a few months of the relationship.
