Karen Avrich

Karen Avrich is an author best known for co-writing the book Sasha and Emma: The Anarchist Odyssey of Alexander Berkman and Emma Goldman. The book was incompleted work of her historian father Paul Avrich which she completed following the death of her father. Besides, she is a longtime partner of the American journalist and author Mark Halperin. 

Early Life Of Karen Avrich     

Karen Avrich was born on January 6, 1967, to the popular historian father Paul Avrich and mother Ina Avrich. She grew up in Amsterdam touring around the city along with her mother and sister Jane Avrich. 

Avrich didn't get to spend much time with her busy father but she learned lots of things from him which helped her to build her career. She was very close to him and was inspired.

Karen Avrich's Career

Karen Avrich is a professional writer. She wrote several books following her late father Paul Avrich's footsteps. Her father wrote several books about anarchism which one way or another inspired her to take and continue the legacy.      

Her old man died in February 2006, back then, he was working on the biographies of Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman. Following his death, Avrich completed her father's incomplete project and published the book titled Sasha and Emma: The Anarchist Odyssey of Alexander Berkman and Emma Goldman. Her father asked her to complete the book before he died. 

Avrich published the book in 2012 and it was a success. As a co-writer, she went on a media tour promoting the book which eventually gained her wide recognition.

Besides that, the author worked as an editor for several projects including a few of her partner Mark Halperin's political-based books. Avrich was a great help for her partner Halperin in his book The Way to Win.

Mark Halperin frequently shares pictures of his partner and his son on his Instagram. As of 2018, Avrich lives in New York City along with her partner and son.  

So far, the two are committed to one another and are in a happy and healthy relationship. However, Halperin was accused of sexual hara s sment by over a dozen women. Following the allegation, the journalist was terminated by NBC and MSNBC.
