Joanna Christie

Joanna Christie is a British actress as well as a singer, known for portraying as Jill Mason in the Equus (2007) alongside co-star, Daniel Radcliffe. She is also known for her role in the Netflix television series, Narcos. She is best known for her role as Girl in the Broadway musical Once. Her other television roles include Misfits, Doctors, Starlings, Mr. Selfridge, and Elementary.

In addition, she recorded a song called "This Gift" with Glen Hansard, who composed many of the songs in her album Once.

Joanna Christie was born as Joanna Lauren Christie on 10th April 1982 in Cross Lane, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. He is a Caucasian in ethnicity and holds a British nationality.

Christie is born to Paul Christie and Sue Christie, who was a singer and highly influenced her daughter in the singing field since her childhood.

Christie has a brother, Luke Christie who is a musician, singer, as well as songwriter.

When Christie was 13, she was awarded a musical scholarship to study, voice and flute, piano at Oundle School in Northampton shire.

Later, Christie went to drama school at Mountview Academy of Theater Arts. At age 17, Christie attended National Youth Theater and made her debut in Immaculate Conceit.

Then Christie appeared in a small role in television and joined Kevin Spacey’s Old Vic, New Voices in 2005. The next year, she toured India for five months, where she acted Shakespeare’s, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Jaipur.

Soon, Christie made her appearance in a British television detective drama, Lewis (2008) along with Laurence Fox, Clare Holman, Kevin Whately Rebecca Front, and many other artists.

Apart from her acting career, Christie has recorded a song entitled This Gift, along with music composer, Mullen Hansard,  which was released on his solo album, Rhythm, and Response which became one of the biggest honor of her life.

Then Christie moved to Broadway and scheduled to release next album, The Year of Joy & Tears and the album is set to release in 2017.

Also, Christie has collaborated with cast members and has contributed piano and vocal at the Bowery Poetry Club for a live album recording of the Adam Brown and Friends.
