His childhood was somewhat a difficult one as his mother, Debbie Aldean, and father, Barry Aldean got divorced when he was very small. At the time of the separation of his parents, he was only 3 years old. After the divorce, he along with his sister, Kasi Aldean started living with his mother and used to visit his father in Florida during the summer. He went to a school called Windsor Academy.
When Aldean was young, his father used to map out guitar chords on notebook paper to show him where to place his fingers so that to play the chords before leaving to work. He used to practice a lot. Later, he got a guitar and played along with his dad.
Both of his parents encouraged him to build his career in music. At the age of 14, when he was watching the country-music awards on TV, he discovered his interest of performing on stage. Later, with the help of his mother, he performed at the local VFW hall in Macon where he sang John Anderson's song, Seminole Wind and Sticks, and Stones by Tracy Lawrence. Initially, Jason Aldean along with his band used to perform in clubs and festivals with the help of his father. He then also started writing and recording original songs. At the age of 21, he moved to Nashville after signing a recording contract with Warner-Chappell but the contract was soon dropped. Later, he signed a deal with Broken Bow Records from where his actual journey in music started.
In early 2005, Aldean released his first single, Hicktown which hit #10 on US Hot Country Songs. The same year, he also gave another hit song, Why which hit #1 on US Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. Finally, on 26th July 2005, he released his debut studio self-titled album which was certified platinum by RIAA and also hit #6 on US Billboard Chart.
