Jada Pinkett Smith Receiving Trailblazer Award At MTV Movie & TV Awards

MTV Awards is hitting the ground in days, and before heading to the Awards straight away, MTV has announced this year's Trailblazer Award receiver-and she is nonother than Jada Pinkett Smith.

The award is bestowed to the game-changing creators with fresh and fearless voices in entertainment. Amy Doyle, MTV General Manager, said,

Jada has been a powerhouse since the beginning of her career and has achieved multi-hyphenate status throughout.

She added,

She is the epitome of someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and we are thrilled to present her with this year's Trailblazer Award.

The award has only been presented for five other times in the past, and its recipients include Lena Waithe, Channing Tatum, and Shailene Woodley.

The Zachary Levi hosted 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards will be aired on Monday, June 2017 at 9 p.m. Game of Thrones, RBG, and Avengers: Endgame are the most nominated television series and film in this year's MTV Movies & TV Awards. Singers Lizzo and Bazzi are taking the stage in the Awards on Mondy.
