English actress Irene Sutcliffe, who was widely famous for appearing in Coronation Street, Sunday Night Theatre, and The Royals, has died at the age of 88. She died on 3rd May, Friday.
The death news of Sutcliffe comes a week after fellow Coronation Street star Andrew Hall passed away at the age of 65. He died last Monday after following a short battle with an illness.
Sutcliffe’ character Maggie in Coronation Street ran the corner shop from 1968 to 1974 and lived with alcoholic husband Less Clegg played by John Sharp. But the couple got divorced in 1969 over his heavy drinking.
Sutcliffe started his professional acting career in the 1950s and was active in the field for more than six decades. She appeared in Coronation Street from 1968 until 1975.
