The respected judge, Harold Lederman, who was inducted to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2016, died on 11th May, on Saturday morning after losing his lengthy battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.
HBO has confirmed the news of his death following a tweet from veteran promoter Lou DiBella.
Just learned that my friend of 30 years, Harold Lederman, has succ u mbed to the cancer he fought so hard. @shotfighter26 was one of a kind & there will never be another. He loved #boxing, fighters and his family unconditionally. He lived his life on his terms. Godspeed. #RIPHarold

On the other side, Harold’s daughter Julie confirmed his pa s sing on Facebook writing “Today, I lost my hero, Love you dad.”
Harold, who was previously a prominent judge in New York/ New Jersey area, was a fixture at HBO boxing since 1986 when he first was added as a new component to its boxing coverage.
Harold was not shy about expressing his opinion of what boxers were doing right or when they were doing wrong. He was not only an attraction for HBO’s significant doubts but was spotted at club shows and every other boxing events that took place in New York.
Harold was only an avid Jets fans and was often seen expressing his frustration with the team’s fortunes. However, he was proud to wear his green and white on Sundays.
