Nicole Curtis, the HGTV star’s company Detroit Renovations was sued by the City of Minneapolis for just $2. Yes, you read that right, for just $2. They charged the company for failing to renovate a dilapidated house the company bought in 2013 from the city.

Even someone like Nicole who has spent seven seasons transforming homes to their former true glory on TV couldn’t make a smart home purchase, as it seems.
The lawsuit was obtained by Consumerist; it states that Detroit Renovations failed to comply with terms of the contract it signed with the city that explicitly mentioned topics regarding fixing up the North Minneapolis property and adding other fundamental improvements in a year.
The suit was filed in January; it further states that Detroit Renovations, Nicole’s company ‘’ failed to substantially complete the minimum improvements on the property’’.
Furthermore, the suit also claims that the firm hasn’t paid any property taxes or manage insurance on the property.
