The news comes weeks after he was charged with six counts of sexual abuse over a child. The report filed in the Maricopa County Superior Court on June 13, claimed Knight involved in multiple sexual acts with an underage girl.

The court papers also accused Knight of abusing the child on a couch while they two watched movies and while the victim was asleep in her mother's bed. TMZ reported that the girl was just 9 years old.

Days before he was found dead, Knight apologized in a YouTube video titled I am Sorry Lord, where he expressed his regret about his misconducts with the people around him whom he didn't specify.

Knight said in the now-deleted video,

This is probably my last message on Earth. I just want to say that I lived a life of sin. I lied. I cheated, and I stole from many people. I was a taker. That's why my life ended up where it is now.

The video further continued,

Life is not a game. You can't play around with life. It's serious, and I wasn't honest with a lot of people, even my mom, my brother and my family members. I isolated myself from my family members. I isolated myself from my friends, and that's not something you should do.

Billy Knight played as a guard/forward at UCLA from 1998 to 2002 when he averaged 14.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as a senior. After he failed to make an NBA draft in 2002, he played a professional basketball in France and Japan.
