Robertson died just hours after he delivered some motivational speech among high school students in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie. He had been heading to his home after dropping off his limo driver.

The accident occurred at around 70 miles away from the school, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.

The investigator said the vehicle Robertson driving entered the curve at over speed for the rainy condition which led it to veer off the road before a pickup truck hit it knocking into the southbound lane where it was further struck by an oncoming car.

The Garland-native was then taken to an Athens hospital which is at 20 miles away from the scene where he was pronounced dead upon arriving.
