Barbara Bush, Former First Daughter Marries Fiance Craig Coyne In A Private Ceremony

  • Daughter of George W. Bush and Laura Bush, Barbara Bush got married.
  • The 36-year-old Bush tied the knot with her fiance Craig Coyne on Sunday, 7th October.
  • The couple got engaged in late April during a family get together at Walker's point.
  • Coyne popped the question to his longtime girlfriend exactly at the same place where the former president George H.W. Bush proposed former first lady Barbara Bush.

Former American President George W. Bush walked his daughter Barbara Pierce Bush down the aisle on Sunday, 7th October.

Bush, the daughter of former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, tied the knot with her fiance, screenwriter Craig Coyne in a small ceremony attended by only 20 family members.

People reported that the simple and romantic wedding was held at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine. The bride described her marriage as "a very short, sweet ceremony," to People.

The bride and groom exchanged their vows in front of their family members including the bride's father Bush, mother and her grandfather and former American president George H.W. Bush, 94.

Barbara's twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, who became a mother in April just days after their grandmother Barbara Bush died, served as matron of honor. Hager's daughters, Margaret, 5, and Poppy, 3, and Coyne's niece, Emma, 5, were flower girls.

The new bride, Barbara told People,

It's really sweet. The 'something borrowed' that I'm wearing is this bracelet that my grandfather gave to my grandmother on their 70th anniversary.

Barbara and Coyne were engaged this summer when Conye got down on one knee proposing his girlfriend during a family get together at Walker's point. Apparently, the place was exactly same where Barbara's grandfather Geroge H.W. Bush proposed her grandmother nearly 75 years earlier.
