A Florida Man Killed His Three-Year-Old Daughter Before Shooting Himself To Death

A heartless Florida father shot his daughter, 3, to death before he turned the gun on himself. The man, identified by Terrence Jackson shot his daughter, Cherish Jackson in the head outside her Escambia County home Saturday afternoon.
An eyewitness told WEAR-TV Cherish ran out to the car crying, "Daffy, Daffy." The witness further said Cherish, who seemed overjoyed to see her father, walked around 100 yards with her father before he pulled out a gun and shot her twice in the head.
The witness also revealed Terrence said something to his daughter before he lodged the bullets into her head. The witness who lives in the neighbor to the girl's mother said,
I know he said something to Cherish right before he shot her because I saw her look up at him. That image of her looking at him is etched into my mind forever.
Moments later, Terrence turned the gun on him and shot himself fatally. Both the father and daughter were laying in the street as the police arrived at the scene.
The Escambia County deputies pronounced Terrence dead at the scene while Cherish was still alive and was taken to a nearby hospital where she died the following day.
On Monday night, a crowd of people gathered at a local park for a candlelight vigil where pink balloons were released as "Amazing Grace" was sung.
Talking to New Journal, the girl's mother, Casey Scott, told,
She fought hard to stay here with us. It just wasn't meant for her to be.
She added,
I've been holding my head high. I know that my baby wouldn't want us out here crying. Wouldn't want us out here struggling. Wouldn't want us out here breaking down. As you can see, she was a fighter.
Casey and Terrence were separated for some time, and the latter would visit their daughter, Jackson, every Saturday. A neighbor said Jackson and his daughter used to walk to a nearby store; however, it didn't happen as usual on Saturday, 20th July. It is still unclear why Jackson killed his daughter and himself.
