Popularly known as the former managing editor of The Washington Post, Eugene Robinson is a liberal American journalist and newspaper columnist. Robinson is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and his columns are published in the Washington Post. He is also the chief political analyst at NBC News and MSNBC. He is associated with the International Women's Media Foundation as a board member.

Early Life, Bio, And Family 

Eugene Robinson was born as Eugene Harold Robinson on 12th March 1954 in Orangeburg, South Carolina in the United States of America. He is an American by nationality and an African American by ethnicity. He got his early education from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.

Robinson joined the University of Michigan for his higher studies. He used to write for The Michigan Daily school newspaper when he was at the university.

The journalism career of Eugene Robinson began in the year 1976 with his entry in the San Francisco Chronicle. His job at that time was to cover the trial of publishing heiress Patty Hearst.

Robinson took a big turn in 1980 when he joined the Washington Post. He worked as the city hall reporter at the paper so he slowly climbed up the ladder of success with his hard work and determination.

After the Washington Post, Robinson became the assistant city editor at Buenos Aires, Argentina, and London, England. He reported as the foreign correspondent during his tenure in this post. Followed by that, he became the assistant managing editor of the same newspaper. 

Eugene Robinson is also regarded as a fiery political analyst so he often appears on MSNBC cable Television programs which include Morning Joe, Politics Nation with Al Sharpton. Similarly, he also appears on other shows like The Rachel Maddow Show, The Ed Show, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Apart from that Robinson is a panelist at Meet the Press on the NBC channel.

Eugene Robinson has written some books which include "Coal to Cream: A Black Man's Journey Beyond Color to an Affirmation of Race" (1999) and "Last Dance in Havana" (2004).
