Emily Beecham, an English-American actress is best known for her appearances in The Coen Brothers movie Hail, Caesar! and the AMC television series Into the Badlands. She debuted in the entertainment industry in 2006 in the movie Bon Voyage and a TV series, Afterlife. She is popular for her role as Daphne in the movie Daphne released in 2017 for which she recieved some award nominations such as Best Actress in British Independent Film Award and Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer. As of 2018, she is working as one of the main leads in the series Into the Badlands playing a role.                

Early Life And Education Of Emily Beecham

Emily Beecham was born on May 12, 1984, to English father from Lincolnshire who was a pilot and an American mother from Arizona. Being the daughter of a pilot, Beecham moved around a lot as a child.

She was raised in Manchester, England. For her higher studies, she enrolled at the  London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) at the age of 18, in 2003, for three years. She graduated with a bachelor degree with BA Hons in the year 2006.

Emily Beecham's Career 

Emily Beecham debuted in the film industry in the final year at LAMDA, accepting professional acting opportunities. Her first movie appearance was in a 2006 thriller, Bon Voyage and in a TV series Afterlife. The following month saw the premiere of her first feature film, Bon Voyage, receiving positive notices following its October debut on ITV. It won the Golden Nymph award at the June 2007 Monte Carlo Television Festival.

Some of her popular movies include Daphne, Hail, Caesar!, The Thirteenth Tale and so on. In the British Drama movie Daphne, she plays the lead Daphne with other actors like Geraldine James and Nathaniel Martello-White. For the movie, she was nominated for Best Actress in British Independent Film Award and Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer.

Beecham in mid-2007 appeared in the Jan Dunn directorial Independent movie The Calling from which she grabbed Best Actress Award at the London Independent Film Festival. In 2010, she performed professionally on stage for the first time. The play was written by Australian writer Ian McHugh named How to Curse.

Beecham revealed in an interview that she never wanted to play the cute girl role but rather wanted to get cast in roles which had an impact and was the opposite of cute or sweet. Her role in movie Daphne is the kind of role she likes since the character is not cute or sweet but has some masculine gender traits.
