Ellen Albertini Dow was born Ellen Rose Albertini on November 15, 1913, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, the U.S under the birth sign Scorpio. She was of American nationality. 

She was born to parents Oliver Albertini (father) and Ellen Albertini (mother). She grew up along with her six siblings. 

Ellen earned B.A. and M.A. in theatre from Cornell University, where she became a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, graduating in 1935.

Ellen Albertini Dow's Professional Career

In 1985, Albertini debuted in the big screen with American Drive-In. Later, she appeared in many popular television shows including The Golden Girls, Family Matters, and Seinfeld. In 2013, she played in an episode of the Fox sitcom New Girl.

Albertini also performed some comedy roles and directed stage productions. Also, she worked alongside mimes Marcel Marceau and Jacques Lecoq in Paris before moving to California to teach acting at Los Angeles City College.

Albertini also worked in several television projects that include Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Golden Girls, Designing Women, Newhart, Will & Grace, Hannah Montana, Just Shoot Me, among others.

Ellen Albertini Dow's Personal Life 

The American actress was a married woman. Ellen was married to Eugene Dow, Jr. They got married on June 27, 1951, and they exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends.

The happy couple's beautiful conjugal life ended on October 11, 2004, when her husband Eugene Dow, Jr. died. The couple had no children.

Over a decade after her husband's death, Ellen Albertini Dow died on May 4, 2015, at the age of 101 years. The cause of her death was revealed to be pneumonia.

As a matter of fact, actress Ellen Albertini Dow was only 4 ft. 11 inches tall which makes her one of the shortest actresses in the industry.
