Elisabeth Röhm is a German-American actress widely known for portraying Kate Lockley in the WB horror television series, Angel. and Serena Southerlyn in the NBC television series, Law & Order. She has also appeared in several films like American Hustle, Joy and Bombshell.

Daughter of Eberhard Röhm and Lisa Loverde

Elisabeth Röhm was born on April 28, 1973, in Düsseldorf, Germany, under the zodiac sign Taurus. She is of German nationality and belongs to German-American ethnicity. Her maternal grandfather was an Italian immigrant.

Her father, Eberhard Röhm, was a German-born partner of Duane Morris LLP New York's law firm. Meanwhile, her mother, Lisa Loverde, an American scriptwriter. Loverde once wrote for the television soap opera, Guiding Light. Her parents got a divorce when she was only 8 or 9 years old.

Röhm completed her high school studies at St. Andrew's-Sewanee School in Sewanee, Tennessee. She later studied writing and European History at Sarah Lawrence College.

Elisabeth Röhm made her acting debut with the role of Dorothy Hayes in the American soap opera, One Life to Live.

Later in 1999, She appeared in the BBC Northern Ireland miniseries Eureka Street. From 1999 to 2001, he portrayed Detective Kate Lockley in the season 1 and 2 of the WB supernatural television series, Angel.

From 2001 to 2005, Röhm played the role of Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn in the NBC television series, Law & Order.

For her performance in Law & Order, Rohm received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

She has also played the role of deputy DA Amanda Taylor on Stalker. More recently, she has received critical acclaim for her performances in two David O. Russell films, American Hustle and Joy.

For her performance in American Hustle, she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Most recently, Röhm appeared on NCIS along with Mark Harmon and on Netflix's Flaked alongside Will Arnett.
