Nicolas Roeg, having been a cinematographer, broke fresh ground (first alongside Donald Cammell) by creating a lyrical, literary "unstuck in time" editing technique that allowed characters to exist in flash forward/flash back cinematic spaces. I'm a fan of both genres, but calling the highly versatile Nicolas Roeg a "SCIENCE FICTION AND HORROR DIRECTOR" damns him with faint praise.
