Bobby Lee is an American actor, as well as a comedian, well known for his appearance in the comedy sketch television series, Mad TV from 2001 to 2009. Some of his other popular TV series and movies include Hangover in 2010, Chelsea Lately in 2010, The Dictator in 2012, Animal Practice in 2012 and Laid in America, a British comedy film in 2016. As of 2018, he is appearing in the ABC's Splitting Up Together. 

Early Life And Education Of Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee was born on 17 September 1972, in San Diego, California, to Robert Lee (father) and Jeanie (mother). His birth name is Robert “Bobby” Lee Jr and his nationality is American. 

His parents have their owned clothing stores in both Encinitas and Escondido, California. His dad, however, pa s sed away on 18th August 2019. 

He has a younger brother named, Steve Lee, is a musician as well as a host of The Steebee Weebee podcast. 

From the age of 12, Lee was addicted to marijuana and meth and was sent to several rehabs. He ended his addiction to meth at the age of 17. During his addiction period, he claimed that he not only participated in wrestling tournaments under the influence of both Methamphetamine and LSD but also won the game.  

Lee left his parent's home at the age of 18 after completing his graduation from Poway High School in Poway, California. And at the same time, he also joined Palomar College. 

Bobby Lee's Career

Lee started working in coffee shops and restaurants to make ends meet. His career in the comedy field began in the year 1994 when he lost his first job at the coffee shop and he joined a comedy store.

“I just went next door to get a job which was The Comedy Store in San Diego”.

For a few months, he worked odd jobs at the La Jolla Comedy Store in San Diego and later on he decided to attempt some stand-up during one of their amateur nights. After a year, he got offers to open for Pauly Shore and Carlos Mencia.  And he also got a full-time job at The Comedy Store owned by Pauly Shore's mother in Los Angeles.      

In 2001, Lee joined the cast of Mad TV, where he was the only cast member of Asian descent. He was a s sociated with the show until 2009.  Later on, he appeared in several movies and TV series such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2002, Hangover in 2010, Chelsea Lately in 2010, The Dictator in 2012, Animal Practice in 2012 and Laid in America, a British comedy film in 2016.

Upcoming Projects

The multi-talented comedian Bobby Lee would also appear in two upcoming projects computer-animated comedy film Wish Dragon and Guest House. The former will release sometime in 2020. 

Mencia Controversy   

In 2005, comedian Joe Rogan wrote a post on his social media openly blaming Mencia for being a copier, claiming that Mencia stole jokes from plenty of comedians.  And on 10 February 2007, Rogan confronted Mencia on stage at the Comedy Store and accused him of plagiarism in front of the audiences. 

Rogan posted the video of the argument with video and audio clips from other actors including Bobby Lee, Reverend Bob Levy, George Lopez, and Ari Shaffir among others. Lee was also bought into the controversy as he has worked with Mencia and was a part of his group.  

Bobby Lee talked about Brian Redban's Deathsquad network on the Norm Macdonald Live show that Deathsquad made up of several comedians like Redban, Ari Shaffir, Joey Coco Diaz, was in dispute with Bobby Over Mencia. He was also in controversy of stealing the Freddy Soto's, Ex-boyfriend of Comedy Store fixture Eleanor Kerrigan, the material on behalf of Mencia. Later on, it was proved that Freddy was wrong.

Booby prefers a low key personal life and does not share much about his private life with media and fans. He is a married man. Lee tied the knot to longtime girlfriend in Khalyla in August 2016 at New York Church.
