Introduction
Alex Rodriguez was born on 27th July 1975 in New York City, New York, United States. He is an American professional baseball shortstop, designated hitter, and third baseman. He was born to a Dominican family. He is the only child of his parents but he has two half-siblings Suzy and Joe.
Education and career
Alex Rodriguez attended Christopher Columbus High School and when he was at the end of freshman year, he got transferred to Westminster Christian School. At the school, he was a star shortstop on the baseball team. Alex became the first high school player in 1993 to ever try out for the United States national baseball team. In the country, he was regarded as the top prospect.
In the year 1994, Alex Rodriguez made his professional debut in the Minor-League Baseball with Appleton Foxes of Cla s s A Midwest League. Later on, he was promoted to the Jacksonville Suns and there he played 17 games. He split most of 1995 between Tacoma Rainiers and Mariners of the PCL. During the 1995 season, Alex played total 48 games batting 232 with 5 home runs. In the following year, Alex took over the Mariners’ regular shortstop and let the America League with .358 batting average. In the next year 1997, he had .300 batting average with 23 home runs with 84 RBIs.
After the season 2000, Alex Rodriguez became a free agent. He then signed with the Texas Rangers who had fallen to last in their division in the year 2000. In 2001-02 Alex scored 109 home runs which were the most ever by an American League right-handed batter in consecutive seasons. After the 2003 season, Texas set out to move Alex and his expensive contract.
In 2004, Alex Rodriguez signed the contract with the New York Yankees. In the first season, he scored 286 with 36 home runs, 106 RBIs. 112 runs. In the year, Alex hit .321, by leading American League with 124 runs. He became first Yankee to win the American League home run title after Reggie Jackson in 1980. Recently ,on 17th April 2016, Alex became the 19th player to make 12,000 careers at plate appearances.
Personal life
Alex Rodriguez got married in the year 2002 with Cynthia Scurtis. His wife is a psychology graduate and the couple has first met at the gym in Miami, Florida. He has two children from his wife and both of them are the daughter. His first daughter was born on 2004 named Alexander and his second daughter was born on 2008 named Cynthia.
On 2007, it was reported by the New York Post that Alex Rodriguez spent an evening with a blonde woman who was later identified as a longtime exotic dancer named Joslyn Noel. Again, in the same year, he was seen with a woman named Morse having dinner and then they went to a strip club. He got divorced in 2008 with his wife Cynthia because the couple was having a problem. The reason behind divorce was rumored that Alex was having affair with the pop singer named Madonna.
In the year 2003, Alex Rodriguez gave $3.9 million to the University of Miami to renovate its baseball stadium. Recently the net worth of Alex is $400 million.
