An Alabama man was arrested on suspicion of raping a 5-year-old girl. The girl was hospitalized and underwent surgery following the attack last Thursday.
Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Jonson told authorities responded to a Prattville hospital for a report of a sexually a s saulted child on Thursday. Johnson further said it was one of the worst cases he had dealt with in his 31-year-long career.
District Attorney Randall Houston told,
This is one sick bastard who I hope never sees the light of day. We'll do everything we can to make that happen.
Steven Sarandon Barnes, 28, was arrested on suspicion of the rape Saturday and was charged with first-degree rape, of a child and second-degree possession of marijuana.
Barnes remains under the custody on $106,000 bail which must be paid on cash according to The Advertiser.
