American singer-songwriter Adam Levine spoke up about his decision to leave American singing television series The Voice in a lengthy post on Instagram. He opened up about the decision on Friday hours after the news shocked millions of fans and fellow coaches as well.

The Sugar’ singer posted a 2012 Rolling Stone cover photo featuring himself with his then-coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and CeeLo Green who were the original coach panel for the first three seasons.

Forty years old Adam recalled the moment on how he first landed the gig that lasted over eight years and sixteen seasons.

On the lengthy Instagram post, Adam first started thanking Mark Burnett, who convinced the coach panel to sign up for the show and they had no idea what they were doing or where the show was going. But just after the first day, Adam realized that it was going to be a life-shaping experience which will be close to his heart forever.

Continuing the post, Adam went on thanking numerous members of the cast and crew including host Carson Daly, Paul Mirkovich, and former and current coaches.

Adam had a special reserved shout-out for his BFF Blake Shelton. Adam admitted that he could not hide his love for Shelton even though he tried. He talked about their friendship, which is and will always be one for the books. He then claimed Shelton as his brother for life.

Adam then announced that it was time for him to move on. He thanked the loyal voice fans and claimed that their support had meant everything for him.

Adam ended the post by tipping his hat to his late manager, Jordan Feldstein who died at the age of 40 in December 2017 of a blood clot.

Over the course of his sixteen seasons, Adam has won the show three times.
