Actress Cynthia Nixon Recruits Rebecca Katz and Bill Hyers to help her Run for New York Governor
The 51-year-old, sex and the city actress, Cynthia Nixon has fixed her eyes to run for the governor of New York.
According to the reports from NY1, Nixon is assembling a staff ahead of the run including Rebecca Katz and Bill Hyers, who helped Bill de Blasio during his first campaign for the mayor of New York.
The American actress, Nixon, penned an op-ed on CNN.com where she made her point with “each one of us has to do whatever we can to take the government back,” including “taking the leap to run for office ourselves.”
Everyday people running means more people of color, more women, more queer people, more first-generation Americans, more allies — more of the people whose voices have been missing for far too long.
She further focused on doing something more important and made her agenda clear claiming a common mission to unite millions of people across the nation.
We may not have million dollar super PACs behind us, but we’ll have something more important — a shared mission uniting millions of people across this nation.
Last year, during her appearance on NBC’s today, she shared many people want her to run for the governor of New York. She even criticized then governor Andrew Cuomo who she can possibly face if she makes it to the race.
