The 33 years old journalist gave birth to twins; daughter Ruby Kate and son William Jeffrey. She welcomed twins on 5th June, Wednesday, in New York City.
Abby revealed that her daughter came first at 5 lbs., 12 oz and later son William at 5 lbs., 4 oz. She added joking:
Both babies are long like their parents — 19 inches.
Her father, the U.S. Amba s sador to Russia and mother Mary Kaye, came all the way from Moscow for the delivery.
Though Abby is extremely pleased to welcome twins, she and her husband were in shock when they first knew they were expecting twins.
Abby announced her pregnancy back in January.
The couple conceived without using any fertility treatments, which is also another big surprise. They have always wanted their children to be close in age.
