A Missouri Man Charged With Murder Of His Son, 20, Whom He Assaulted While He Was 6 Weeks

A Missouri father was indicted with the murder of his son, 20, whom he shook maliciously as an infant, months after he died due to the injuries he suffered in the attack in 1998.

Olin Tannery, 39, served 13 years in prison for his a s sault with his son after he pled guilty to attempted first-degree a s sault for shaking and squeezing then-6-week-old Dominic Pittsenbarger. He was released in 2007.

Fox News reported the baby had suffered subdural bleeding, head injuries, a fractured vertebra, and rib fractures. Doctors said he wouldn't survive, however, he survived surprisingly with a permanent brain damage.

Dominic Pittsenbarger was adopted by Wendell Pittsenbarger as a child, whose last name he took. The boy used a wheelchair throughout his life. He graduated from his high school in 2017. In April 2018, Pittsenbarger died of the injuries he suffered two decades before.

Wendell Pittsenbarger, his adoptive father told,

I love that boy and still miss him dearly. I think about him all of the time.

Tannery was charged with the second-degree murder on Tuesday, 30th October by a jury in Clay County. During that time prosecutor said that Tannery a s saulted his baby boy because he would not stop crying. Tannery allegedly picked up the baby and threw to the ground.

Tannery has been held in custody on $500,000 bail and is expected to return to court for his hearing on his murder charge on Friday, 2nd November.
