Muhib said also reported that Taliban insurgents freshly planted the bomb to target Afghan and foreign security forces, but the victims were civilians, mostly women, and women.

The spokesman for the Afghan presidency, Sediq Sediqqi, reported the death toll a little higher at 34 and blamed the Taliban for the loss.

There is no any immediate confirmation from the group; however, the Taliban operate the region and frequently use the roadside bombs in order to target the security forces and government officials.

Taliban and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant fighters settle almost near-daily attacks on government employees, Afghan forces, and civilians.

The news of the blast came just a day after the United Nations claimed that civilians were being killed and wounded at the shocking level in Afghanistan’s war even though there were several pushes made to end the nearly 18 years old conflict.

As per reports, the United States and the pro-government forces are the reason behind the death of more civilians than the Taliban and other armed groups. The child casualties represent around one-third of the overall injuries.
