Real Housewives of Atlanta Alum NeNe Leakes' Husband Gregg Leakes Battling Colon Cancer For Months
- Reality star NeNe Leakes' husband Gregg Leakes has been suffering from colon cancer.
- The 63-year-old businessman is battling stage 3 colon cancer since May 2018.
- NeNe, 50, announced her husband's disease Sunday's Real Housewives of Atlanta season 11 premiere.
- NeNe and Gregg have been married since 1997, they got divorced in 2011, however, they remarried in 2013 June.
Gregg Leakes has been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. His wife and Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, NeNe Leakes revealed during Sunday's Real Housewives of Atlanta season 11 premiere.
Gregg Leakes, 63, the businessman went public with his health battle back in June, but he kept what type of cancer he was diagnosed under wraps.
Announcing her husband health condition, NeNe, 50, explained her husband experienced symptoms related to the disease in May. She further said,
It was Cinco de Mayo. Gregg was in excruciating pain. Like, I've never seen him say, 'I'm hurting so bad, the pain is so bad in my stomach.' And finally, he said to me, 'Take me to the hospital.'
Gregg said that Gregg undergo emergency surgery to have the part of his colon removed after the diagnosis. He said,
We just weren't prepared to hear that. I guess the scariest part about all of this is when we got to the hospital and the doctor saying that we need to do surgery on you tonight or you ain't going to make it.
Gregg further said,
I went over and prayed to God and I told Him, 'If it's time, let's go.' I don't fear death, I don't want to go. If my work here is finished here, take care of them, let's go.
NeNe has always been a motivation to Gregg and after his diagnosis, her support has been pretty vital for him. The lovebirds have been married since 1997 and they share two sons; Bryson and Brentt in over two decades long married life.
They separated in 2010 and got divorced the following year, however, they rekindled their romance and got married again in June 2013 at a ceremony that was filmed for her spinoff I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding.
