Tim Cahill is one of the most popular football players in the Australian Football team as an all-time top scorer from the Team so far. Timothy Filiga “Tim” Cahill is his full name but was named Timothy Joel Cahill. “Tiny Tim” or “Timmy” is his nicknames.

He is one of the highest profile players in the Asian Football Confederation with 100 caps for his country and was the first Australian to score in the World Cup.

Early Life Of Tim Cahill

He was born from a Samoan mother and English father in the year 1979 December 6 in Sydney Australia. He has younger Siblings named Chris Cahill, who is a Samoan footballer and team Captain. He has four children, 3 sons named Kyah, Shae and youngest one has no disclosed name and a daughter Sienna from his spouse Rebekah Cahill, whom he married in 2010.

Tim Cahill grew up in Australia. He finished his schooling in different schools due to migration during the time namely, Bexley North Public School, Annandale North Public School, Temple High School and Kingsgrove North High School.

His whole family can be related to the chunk of sportsmen where his own brother is a Samoan footballer; his 3 cousins are professional rugby players along with 2 nephews who are professional rugby league players and also Rugby Union professionals.

Tim Cahill was encouraged to play badminton as a kid. However, he became interested in playing football and had played for Balmain Police Boys Club, Marrickville Football Club, and Plumpton/Oakhurst Soccer Club during the young age.

Tim Cahill's Career

Tim Cahill started his youth career in 1995 joining in Sydney Olympic FC. He remained with this club till 1997 and made an unstable move to Sydney United in 1997 from where in the same year he joined with Millwall in 1997.

From 1998, Tim Cahill debuts his professional career by teaming up with the first team of Millwall where he appeared in 217 matches bagging 52 goals for the team till 2004. In 2004, he signed the contract with Everton.

He played for the team until 8 years in 226 matches bagging 56 goals for the team. After the end of his contract period with Everton, he made his move to American Soccer League Club, New York Red Bulls in 2012. He has played in 46 matches bagging 13 goals for the team so far.

Tim Cahill is in the first team of the Australian National Team since 2004 as the central midfielder. He represented Australia in 67 matches scoring 31 goals till date. And this made him all-time top scorer in the Australian National Football Team.

Before being selected in this first team, he has the experience of playing in 2 matches from under 20 Samoa Football team in the year 1994 and from Under 23 Australia National Football Team scoring 1 goal in 3 matches in the year 2004.
