Tionne Watkins aka T-Boz is an American singer, songwriter, actress, author, and executive producer. Grammy Award winner who started her career in 1992 is famous as a member of TLC. Likewise, she is widely known for contributing singles like Touch Myself, Creep, Waterfalls, FanMail, Freedom to the music industry.

When Tionne turns 7, her family knew that she has sickle cell anemia(1 in 12 people of African American descent have the disease). She usually spends most of the time in the hospital for diagnosis and it was a painful condition to her and her mother. Later in 1996, she was open up to the media and public about her sickness.

The doctor told her that she won't be a mother and won't survive the past 30 years. She strongly fight against it and proved it wrong. Later, she became one of the spokespeople for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.

When she was 36, she was suffer from a deadly brain tumor. Due to anticipated life-threatening complications related to her sickle cell disease, Tionne struggled to find a surgeon willing to perform surgery.

During her diagnosis, her sight, facial movement, balance, and hearing were affected but the surgery was successful and saved paralysis on the right side of her face and a 3% loss of hearing in her right ear. Tionne spent more than 3 years rehabilitating post the surgery.

Watkins has had an interest in music from her childhood because her both parents have a musical background. Tionne knew from early childhood that she wanted to one day become a performer too. In 1990, she joined the three-member band, the third one being Lisa Lopes.

In 1991, she met Perri "Pebbles" Reid and Crystal Jones. The trio's original name was 2nd Nature (Crystal's group), but Reid renamed it TLC where ‘T’ represents Tionne, ‘L’ Lisa, and ‘C’ Crystal. Later Crystal was replaced by Rozonda Thomas and they start to work together. Her first album with TLC was "Oooooohhh..." in 1992 which is one of the popular albums of that time.

 After that Watkins became "T-Boz", Lopes became "Left-Eye", and Thomas became "Chilli" so that ‘TLC’ continued to be the acronym of their names. In 1994, TLC released their CrazySexyCool and Billboard Hot 100. After that, she gained a high profile and was recognized as a vocalist of TLC. 

In 1999, TLC released their third album, ‘FanMail’, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, remaining there for five weeks. , it has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Also in 1999, Tionne Watkins published her first book, ‘Thoughts’.

In 2002 TLC released ’3D’ and sold 143,000 copies in its first week of release which debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 and number 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 2005, Watkins and a partner opened a children's boutique called Chase's Closet and closed down in 2008 due to her tumor surgery. 

 In 2013 the biography of TLC, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story was premiered. The role of Watkins was portrayed by actress/singer Drew Sidora. In 2017, Tionne published her second book, ‘A Sick Life: TLC 'n Me: Stories from On and Off the Stage’.

Moving towards singer/songwriter status, T-Boz seems to be single as of January 2022. She has never revealed anything about his private details including his love life, dating, boyfriend, and partner.

Previously, she tied the knot of marriage with American Rapper Dedrick D'Mon Rolison(Mack 10). The Duo exchanged on August 19, 2000. They had a very private ceremony where close family, friends, and relatives are invited.

After a few months of marriage, T-Boz gave premature birth to her daughter Chase Anela Rolison on October 20, 2000.  After she breastfeed her newborn, she fell into a coma and spent three days unconscious in the ICU. But her sickle-cell disease led to harrowing post-birth complications.

In June 2004, Tionne filed for divorce and requested a restraining order against her husband Dedrick D'Mon Rolison(Mack 10). In May 2016 she adopted her son Chance who was born in March 2016.

She has a very close friendship with TLC member  Rozonda Thomas.
