The record-breaking scorer in his youth ranks and youngest player in Bundesliga history to make 150 appearances Timo Werner has just turned 23 last March and is considered prodigy of German Football. Early Life And Career Of Timo Werner

Werner is German professional football player born on 6th March 1996 in Stuttgart to father Gunter Schuh and mother Sabine Werner. He was raised in Bad Canstatt near the Stuttgart's  Mercedez Benz Arena and was inspired by his father to play football who himself was once a winger for FC Ludwigsburg.

In his early years, he joined his hometown club VFB Stuttgart and represented the club at various youth level. During his youth years, he was labeled as the next bright prospect for Germany and made his Under 19 debut for Stuttgart during 2011/12 season when he was just sixteen years old. At that campaign, he scored 24 goals and also won Fritz Walter Medal given to youth player by German Football Association.

He made his senior debut for the team in the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League qualifying phase against PFC Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria and became the youngest player in VfB Stuttgart history aged 17 years and four months.  Furthermore, after making debut in the league he broke the record for Stuttgart's youngest player in Bundesliga and DFB Pokal and also became the youngest goalscorer after scoring against Eintracht Frankfurt. When he was eighteen years of age he signed a professional contract with Stuttgart and went on to score 14 goals in 96 appearances. He became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to make 50 appearances in Bundesliga.  

Timo Werner's Professional Career with Leipzig

After Stuttgart's relegation in 2015/16 season, Werner joined RB Leipzig on 11 June 2016, signing a four-year contract. The transfer fee was reported to be around $12 million making him the biggest transfer in Leipzig history. On 26 September Werner became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to play 100 matches at the age of just 20 years.  He scored his debut goal against Hamburg SV on matchday 3 of 2016/17 campaign.

At the end of season surprisingly Leipzig finished 2nd in Bundesliga table and qualified for the Champions League first time in the history of the club. He scored 21 goals making him the highest German goal scorer of the Bundesliga. Later he became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to make 150 appearances breaking the record previously set by Karl-Heinz-Korbel

Werner represented Germany at various level of youth football and was considered prodigy of German Football since his teen days. In 48 matches at the junior level, he scored 34 goals. His first hattrick for German U-15 came against Poland. Werner's first international appearance came against England. Werner was selected by Coach Joachim Low for 2017 Confederation Cup held in Russia. Germany lined a very young team for the Cup but in spite of that they won the tournament and Werner became the star and won the Golden Boot with three goals and two assists to his name. He scored his first goal of the tournament against Cameroon in the group stage.
