Texas Based Musician Claims of Copyright over Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s single Side By Side

The single released in 2016, side by side, featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj was one of the most appreciated singles of the time.

The singing duo entered quadruple platinum with the single but things do not seem right after the single was recently hit with a copyright lawsuit.

TMZ has learned that the plaintiff Christopher R. O'Connor has claimed of composing a music piece entitled J5 (T6), and that was later discovered by someone from UMG Recordings leading Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj to copy the music. It was learned that the track from 24-year-old Ariana Grande's music album, dangerous woman, was marked similar to Texas-based composed who have claimed of the original tune.

The video, side by side, features Ariana Grande and 35-year-old Nicki Minaj that has however acc u mulated over 1 billion views on YouTube. O’Connor is suing the production house and recording company UMG for royalties on the song, side by side.

Well, to some extent, TMZ has learned that the self-claimed original composer, O’ Connor is not going to sue the dangerous woman hitmaker nor to the anaconda singer. O’Connor is furious over the copy of his original music and is all set to sue UMG Recordings. O'Connor told the media that he strongly believes UMG has found his music online and has copied some more of his songs and used them in making other music.

Ariana Grande has been performing for long and making the crowd go crazy with her talented singing voice. Earlier reports from The Sun sparked the rumors about the sensational singer was in talks to take the gig. Last year in August, during Seth McFarlane's Carpool Karaoke, Grande revealed that she would love to do gigs.
