Shaktar Donetsk

Shaktar Donetsk is the Ukrainian professional football Club founded in 1936 May 26. It is the second most popular and one of the oldest football clubs in Ukraine. It has its home stadium at Donbass Arena, Donetsk, Ukraine with the capacity of holding 52,187 audiences. Shaktar Donetsk plays for the Ukrainian Premier League under the management of Mircea Lucescu and Chairman Rinat Akhmetov. Shaktar Donetsk is also known as Hirnyky (Miners) and Kroty (Moles). It has appeared in several of the European Championship competitions and is also in UEFA Champions League. It has its own training centre to train its players irrespective of the team categories at Kirsha Training Centre. Dynamo Kyiv is considered as its biggest rival club today in Ukraine. The kit of the club is sponsored by Nike.
