Roger Mooking has established himself as one of the successful Canadian musicians and host. He is better known for his unusual appearances on cooking shows throughout North America. He is serving as the host of the TV series ‘Man Fire Food’ for around seven years. Mooking has also worked as the host and co-creator of the cooking show, ‘Everyday Exotic.’

Early Life and Education

Born on December 14, 1973, in Trinidad & Tobago, Roger Mooking, is the son of Gemma and Allay. At the age of five, he moved to Canada and spent his early days growing up in Edmonton, Alberta, along with his brother, Michael. At that time, his parents had their own restaurant business.

Mooking attended George Brown College of Hospitality where he studied culinary arts. He belongs to Canadian nationality and regarding his ethnicity, Mooking has a mixed ethnical background as he is of Trinidadian and Chinese descent.

Professional Career

Following his graduation, Roger Mooking worked at Toronto's Royal York Hotel. He later found his interest in the restaurant business and started working as a restaurateur across Toronto, Ontario. During his years as a restaurateur, he also became co-owner of the Kultura Social Dining and Nyood Restaurants.

Besides, Mooking has also made his remarkable appearances in numerous cooking shows all over North America. He has featured in several television shows including ‘The Today Show’, ‘Good Morning America’, ‘The Marilyn Show’, and ‘Iron Chef America’ as well.

Mooking currently serves as the host of two TV shows, ‘Heart Seekers’ and ‘Man Fire Food.’ Likewise, he is the host and co-creator of the cooking show, ‘Everyday Exotic.’ He became a judge in two episodes of season 10, Guy’s Grocery Games. And he also worked as a recurring judge on 'Food Network’s Chopped: Canada.'

Author and Recording Artist

Following the success of the hit TV series, ‘Everyday Exotic’, Roger Mooking also published his cookbook ‘Everyday Exotic: The Cookbook’ in the year 2011. The book received a Gourmand World Cookbook award.

Mooking has also worked in the music industry as a recording artist. He is the former active member of the soul trio ‘Bass Is Base.’ He released his second solo album ‘Feedback’ in June 2013.

The 44-year-old Roger Mooking is a married man. He is married to his girlfriend, Leslie Mooking, for a long time. The couple is also blessed with three children together.
