Inside Biography


Thirty-three years old Pedram Javaheri is an Iranian-American meteorologist for CNN international, based at the CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. He can be regularly seen on CNN Newsroom and World Business Today. He also appears in HLN’s Morning Express with Robin Meade and on CNN U.S. during breaking news and severe weather coverage. Pedram Javaheri was born on May 24, 1983, in Tehran, Iran.

Early life and education

Pedram Javaheri spent his early childhood in his birthplace Tehran. At the age of ten, his family moved to Redmond, Washington, from Tehran. He completed his High School studies in Redmond, Washington. After completing his High School, he earned bachelor degrees in Broadcast journalism and Meteorology. Again, he received a degree in Broadcast Meteorology from the Mississippi State University. Pedram Javaher is fluent in three languages namely, English, Turkish, and Persian.


In 2002, Pedram Javaheri started his career as a weather anchor at Arizona State University. There, he was instrumental in developing the first department of weather at the in-school new program, News Watch TV that broadcast throughout the State of Arizona. After his graduation, he started working for KCSG in Utah. He was later promoted to the position of Chief Meteorologist at the station and was in charge of supervising all weather operations.

In 2008, Pedram Javaheri worked as a weather presenter at duopoly station in Central Coast of California for KKFX, KION, KCBA, and KCOY. He was promoted to the position of meteorologist and as well as the environmental reporter. At this time, he was on the scene of the Basin Complex fires in Big Sur. In June 2009, at the Staples Center, he became the only reporter in the market to cover the Michael Jackson Memorial after having won a lottery to attend the service. In June 2010, he moved to CNN and now resides in Atlanta.

Awards and recognitions

During his time in California, Pedram Javaheri was honored with an Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in weather and he was honored as the Iranian of the Day in the year 2010.  His team won the Peabody Award for the oil spill coverage at CNN in the Gulf of Mexico in the year 2010.

Personal life and affair

Pedram Javaheri has been married to his girlfriend Kimberly Hardman and is away from any type of love relations and extramarital affairs. The couple first met when Pedram Javaheri was struggling in the field of weather forecasting. His wife has supported him in every stage of life and encouraged him to pick up his career in the way of success. The couple has two young children.
