Paul A. Kerger is the president and chief executive officer of PBS, the nation’s largest non-commercial media organization with nearly 350 member stations all over the nation. Kerger also gave a special shout out to the two major public broadcasting entities in the Georgia Public Broadcasting Atlanta and Georgia Public Broadcasting. She was also the keynote speaker at the Rotary Club of Atlanta Monday.

Early Life and Education

Paul Kerger was born on December 20, 1957, in Woodstock, Canada. Paul belongs to Canadian nationality and her ethnicity is a Caucasian. After accomplishing her primary level, she moved to the University of Baltimore and earned a degree in business administration in 1979.

At the time, Paul also worked on the Merrick School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. From Washington University in St. Louis, Grand Valley State University, and Allegheny College. She has also received honorary doctorates.

Paul’s grandfather was the founder of the public radio station in Baltimore, which was a cla s sical music station with a little bit of NPR.

Professional Career

Paul Kerger moved to PBS in March 2006. She is the longest serving president and CEO in PBS history. Paul has made particularly strong commitments to the arts, news and public affairs, high-quality educational content for children and the cla s sroom, diversity, and the use of new digital platforms to bring public media into the lives of all Americans.

PBS is growing its audiences, introducing different genres and platforms, under Ms. Kerger’s leadership. PBS has also released critically praised online video sites for children (pbskids.org) and general audiences (pbs.org) and created new digital partnerships with companies like YouTube, iTunes, AppleTV, Microsoft’s Xbox, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu to ensure that PBS programming is accessible across multiple platforms during her tenure.

In addition to leading PBS, Paul Kerger, president of the PBC Foundation is making remarkable changes. Prior to moving PBS, she also worked for more than ten years at Educational Broadcasting Corporation.

The president and CEO of the Public Broadcasting Service Paul Kerger is a married woman. She is married to her boyfriend Joseph Kerger. The couple is spending quality time together.
