Paul John Teutul is the founder of Orange County Choppers, a company that manufactures custom motorcycles. He rose to fame in his reality television series, American Chopper.

Teutul has also written two books about fabricating and automobiles. He appeared in a show along with his two sons Michael and Paul Teutul Jr. Teutul is working in the field of automobile business for a long time. He has been married and divorced twice. Teutul is one of the experienced still fabricators in the country.

Paul John Teutul was born on 1 May 1949, in Yonkers, New York. He is White in ethnicity and holds American nationality. He was raised in Pearl River, New York. His zodiac sign is Tauras. 

During his early days, Teutul sailed as a member of the Merchant navy during the war. It is still unknown what shipboard department he served in.

Paul Teutul's Career

Paul John Teutul started his own company Orange County Ironworks, a fabrication shop now solely. His son Daniel Teutul served as a manager.

Teutul started building custom bikes for his pleasure. He was inspired by many custom bikes appearing on the street and in movies too.

In 1999, Teutul left Orange County Ironworks and built Orange County Choppers. He offered his son Paul Teutul Jr. and began producing custom bikes for sale.

In 2006, he released his first book titled Orange County Choppers with his son Paul Teutul Sr. He released his second book The Ride of a Lifetime in 2009.

He has also produced and acted in few Hollywood movies and series including Wild Hogs and My Name is Earl. He has also made a guest appearance in numerous TV series.

He produced his own doc u mentary series American Chopper from 2009-10. In 2010, he appeared in a short doc u mentary American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior alongside his son. From 2015-16, he featured in another reality series Orange County Choppers: American Made.

Paul Teutul Sr's net worth was $15 million as of 2017. He is popular for his vintage car collection from 1940 to 1960. He also has a various range of Corvette; each worth $79,000.

Teutul has a good amount of earnings from his work. He generated $100k per episode of American Choppers. In 2009, Paul Teutul Sr. made his highest-earning of $16,500,000. He makes $1 million annually.

In March 2018, he filed for chapter 13 bankruptcy in New York as his Discovery Channel show is set to return to television, Daily Mail reported. He claimed that he owes creditors over $1 million and is worth $1.8 million. He makes over $15K a month and spends $12,612 a month, according to the website.

He also has medical bills totaling more than $2,000. On that paper, he listed his occupation as Still Fabricator with a monthly salary of $13,398. But, he did not mention any television work there. 

Teutul has owned more than 20 vintage cars from the 1940s' 50s. In 2017, he listed his luxury mansion in Montogomery, New York worth $2.9 million. The house is built on a 38-acre property, including, hot tub, pool house,  gazebo, volleyball court, and water features. 

Paul Teutul Sr.’s Death Hoax

In April 2016, social media flooded with the news of former American Chopper star Paul Teutul Sr. In April 2016, the gasoline society website Iron Demons published an article reported about his death. According to that article, he was killed in a motorcycle crash in Louisiana. His motorcycle was struck by an SUV in Greta.

After that, his fans posted the news on Twitter and it went frenzy for some time. But, after this rumor, his show’s official page Orange County Choppers clarified that Teutul’s death hoax is false and it's not true. According to his statement:

There are a lot of rumors floating around that Paul Sr. was in an accident and is either in critical condition or has pa s sed away. These are false and Paul Sr. is alive and well! Thanks to everybody for all your concern and messages.

After this statement, he also commented with his public Facebook page clarifying that he was still alive and it was a false rumor.

Paul Teutul's Personal life, Married, Divorce, Family

Paul Teutul has been married twice. Paul Teutul first married Paula Teutul in 1969. They share four children together, a daughter Cristin Teutul and three sons Daniel Teutul, Michael Teutul, and Paul Teutul Jr. All of his sons are involved in the same profession. His daughter, Christin Teutul is a nurse.

His oldest son Paul Teutul Jr. was fired from the company due to regular disagreements with his brothers and father. Since then he has started his own design business as Paul Jr. Designs. The couple divorced in 1995. 

Teutul married again, Beth Ann Santos in July 2007. However, he could not last long with his second wife as well. The pair separated in 2012. They officially divorced in February 2015.
