Early Life And Education Of Nate Ruess
He was born on February 26, 1982, to father Larry Ruess and mother Bess Zinger in Iowa City, Iowa. He has one sister named Elizabeth. Nate cites his Broadway performer uncle John Ruess to be his influencing factor for his interest in music.
Nate’s childhood was spent in Arizona due to his constant illnesses due to pneumonia. His school education was completed in the Deer Valley High School. He graduated in 2000 and then took up a job in a law firm.

At the age of 19, in 2001, Nate had already launched the band named The Format with his friend Sam Means. After its very first year, the Format was signed to Electra records on the year 2002. After gaining popularity and after releasing two albums, the band stopped making more albums on 2008.
With Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost, Ruess formed a band named Fun. The albums released by Fun got positive reviews. The song titled We Are Young reached number one in the Billboard Hot 100 and the album sold 3 million copies worldwide. The song also got the band a Grammy on February 10, 2013.
Apart from Fun Ruess has also been featured in other singers' albums. Some examples include Beautiful Things by Anthony Green, The Truth About Love by Pink and The Marshall Mathers LP 2 by Eminem.
In 2014, Fun declared that they were still a band and have not exactly split up. Nate has also been pursuing his career as a solo artist since 2014. His first song from his debut album Nothing without Love was released on February 23, 2015. His second album, titled Grand romantic, is set to release on June 16, 2015.
