She has also written a book named Not Your Mother's Midlife: A Ten-Step Guide to Fearless Aging (2003) and Fearless Women: Midlife Journeys (2005).
The writer and producer also came to the limelight following her marital relationship with host Matt Lauer.

Nancy Alspaugh married twice in her life. She first married American journalist and TV personality Matt Lauer, who was the co-host of NBC's Today show from 1997 to 2017, and a contributor for Dateline NBC.
They tied the knot in 1982 after dating for a couple of years. But their relationship did not last for a long period and divorced in 1988. She did not have any children from Lauer.
Alspaugh defended her ex-husband on the wake of many sexual harassment allegations. Back on 30 November 2017, she made a statement that she gives 100 percent support to him.
Her ex-beau was fired from NBC on November 29, 2017, after an allegation of sexual assault and lewd behavior, she declared the entire thing to be fake news.
In an interview with Entertainment Online, she said,
Matt’s been the best person that’s ever held that job, and I couldn’t imagine that anything that he would have done. That would have been so out of character for him- that would have caused that reaction.
She married FOX executive H. Read Jackson after divorcing with Lauer. Unfortunately, Jackson died on January 25, 2016, due to cancer. Meanwhile, she added a new member to her family by adopting a boy, Wyatt. As of now, she is living single with her only son. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3 and Alspaugh has dedicated her life to spreading awareness about the disease.
