On Tuesday, American actress and model Milla Jovovich revealed that she had an emergency abortion when she was four and a half month pregnant.
The musician shared her story supporting the fight for abortion rights after Georgia pa s sed the law of banning abortion after six weeks of pregnancy.
Milla, who is the mother of two children (eleven years old Ever and four years old Dashiel) with her husband Paul W.S. Anderson, was half the way through her pregnancy two years ago.
During her pregnancy, she was busy shooting a movie in Eastern Europe, and she had to go an abortion for medical reasons.
Sharing the experience with her fans and followers on Instagram on Tuesday morning, Milla revealed that she went into pre-term labor and was told to be awake for the whole procedure.
Milla admitted it was the most horrific experience she has ever gone through and still have nightmares about it. She added:
I was alone and helpless. When I think about the fact that women might have to face abortions in even worse conditions than I did because of new laws, my stomach turns.
The Hellboy star claimed that abortion had a severe impact on her mental health. Milla spiraled into one of the worst depressions of her life and even had to work hard to find her way out.
Milla said every Americans have a right to safe abortions. She also explained that the law pa s sed in Georgia on 7th May inspired her to make her voice heard by everyone.
