Born in the year 1971 March 29 at Durban, South Africa, Lara Logan has the South African Nationality. She went to Durban Girl’s College and the University of Natal in South Africa. She has a degree in commerce from the University of Natal which she completed in the year 1992.

In 2002, she joined with CBS News as a full-fledged correspondent. She spent four years of her career reporting from the battlefield, war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq embedding with the American Armed Forces. She basically reported for 60 Minutes II and later been the contributor to the CBS’s shows CBS Evening News, The Early Show and Face The Nation. In 2006, she was promoted in the CBS News Network’s Chief foreign affair correspondent.

Her reports and covers include very sensitive matters. For a lady journalist, to work in such topics is a real hard deal but she has been successful in them. While reporting from Egypt, she has been sexually a s saulted which can be heard in the video.

The CBS crew was attacked and the sound was all recorded in the video until the battery of the video camera went off. The video record the sound of the crowd calling her an Israeli, a Jewish and a s saulting her. She was rescued by some people whom she does not know being unconscious, as she believed she was going to die. She was sent to the United States the next day of the attack and remained four days in the hospital.

Besides her applausive works, she has also been pulled into the controversies and has been criticized. She had to apologize as well. Lara has won several of the journalism awards including Radio and Television Association David Bloom Award, 2008 American Women in Radio and Television Gracie Award, five times Best International News Story Award from Association Women in Radio and Television, 2007 Emmy Award, Overseas Press Club Award, Murrow Award. She has also won the John Aubuchon Press Freedom Award in 2011, John F. Hogan Distinguished Service Award in 2011 and Daniel Pearl Award in 2011.

Being pa s sionate and dedicated to her work, she chose her profession. In 2008, she married Joseph Burkett who is a U.S government defense contractor from Texas. She had met him in Afghanistan.
