Kimiko Glenn is an American actress as well as a singer, best known for portraying Brook Soso in the American comedy-drama web television series, 'Orange Is the New Black' and as Dawn Williams in the Broadway musical Waitress.

Early Life And Education Of Kimiko Glenn 

Kimiko Glenn was born as Kimiko Elizabeth Glenn on June 27, 1989, in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. She is of Japanese, Scottish, German, and Irish descent. 

Glenn is the daughter of Mark Glenn and Sumiko Glenn. Her father is of German, Scottish & Irish descent, where her mother is of Japanese ancestry. She also has a sister, Amanda.

When Kumiko was 10, Glenn joined the Valley Youth Theatre and slowly developed her love for performing. She attended the Desert Vista High School, and the Interlochen Arts Academy boarding school in Interlochen, Michigan.

Later, Glenn enrolled at the Boston Conservatory for a year as a musical theater major but dropped out after Gleen was cast in the touring company of Spring Awakening.

Kimiko Glenn's Professional Career

Kimiko Glenn began acting at the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, along with several other local theaters, when she was in the fifth grade.

During her freshman year of college in 2008, she was cast as Thea in the first U.S. National Tour of Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's rock musical Spring Awakening.

In 2013, Glenn booked her breakthrough role as Litchfield Penitentiary inmate Brook Soso in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black. 

The next year, she appeared in the Lena Dunham-directed music video "I Wanna Get Better" for Jack Antonoff's solo project Bleachers.

Glenn portrayed the aiding role of Liv Kurosawa in the drama-thriller film Nerve (2016) which was based on the young adult fiction of the same name, directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost.

 In 2016, Glenn was cast as Dawn Williams in the Broadway transfer production of Jessie Nelson and Sara Bareilles's musical Waitress.  

As a versatile artist, Glenn gladly jumped into the opportunity of acting for NBC Universal’s half-hour comedy pilot “Holding Patterns.” Preview shows began on March 25 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, and the show officially opened on April 24, 2016. In the same year, he was also a cast in the movie Nerve. 

In the year 2018 sharing the credits along with Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, and Hailee Steinfeld.

Kimiko Glenn is currently in a relationship with American actor, singer as well as a musician, Sean Grandillo who is known for voicing  Otto in the 2015 Broadway revival of Spring Awakening, Brett Young in ABC's comedy series The Real O'Neals and Eli Hudson in MTV's horror series Scream.

The couple has been dating since 2016, and they often share beautiful snaps on Instagram. Till date, there are no rumors about her extramarital affairs.
