The famous guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd was born on June 12, 1977, in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States America.

Early life and Education

Kenny Wayne Shepherd was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Ken Shepherd parents. Kenny Shepherd has completed graduation from Caddo Magnet High School, which situated in Shreveport. The guitarist is ‘completely self-taught’, and does not read music. Ken Shepherd is the father of Kenny, who was a local radio personality and sometime concert promoter and had a vast collection of music.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd received his first ‘guitar’, when he was three or four years old. His mother purchased a series of many plastic guitars for him with S and H Green Stamps, that guitar he said he would “go through like candy”.


Kenny Shepherd began playing guitar in earnest at age seven, after six-month of meeting and being ‘pretty mesmerized’ by Stevie Ray Vaughan. His self-taught mode included a process of learning one note at a time, playing and rewriting ca s sette tapes, using “a cheap Yamaha manna-be Stratocaster.made out of plywood, basically”.

Kenny Shepherd was invited to play guitar onstage by blues musician Bryan Lee when he was thirteen years old. After that, he made demo tapes and a video shot at Shepherd’s, which was the first performance at the Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport. Shepherd's seven singles reached the Top ten position from 1995.  Kenny Shepherd released a critically acclaimed and two-times Grammy nominated DVD-CD project in 2007.

Kenny Shepherd has been married to Hannah since September 16, 2006, who is the daughter of actor Mel Gibson. The couple has one daughter and two sons. The musician's net worth is estimated to be around $10 million dollars/
