Kellye Nakahara Wallett, a former film and television actress widely known for playing the role of Lt. Nurse Kellye Yamato on CBS comedy series M*A*S*H, has died, multiple sources have confirmed.

She pa s sed away on February 16, 2020, at her home in Pasadena, California, surrounded by close friends and family members. She was 72.

As for the cause of death, her son William Wallett told The Associated Press that his mother died after a brief battle with cancer.

She was a performer and an artist, and she did her artwork to make people happy, which in turn gave her joy. People wanted to be near her, she was genuine in her persona.

The Hawaii native was mostly famous for her appearances as Lt. Nurse Kellye Yamato on the CBS comedy series, M*A*S*H, which ran from 1972 to 1983.

She has also appeared in some successful movies such as Clue and John Hughes' She's Having a Baby. More recently, Kellye worked as a watercolor artist. She was involved in many local arts community.

She is survived by her husband, David Wallett, who she married in 1968, two children and four grandchildren.
