Joseph 'Joe' Hahn is an American DJ, director, musician, and visual artist, well known as the DJ of American rock band, Linkin Park. He is also popular for his creative album artwork for Linkin Park.
Early life and education
Joe Hahn was born on 15 March 1977 in Dallas, Texas, US. He has two sisters older than him. He was born to I'm Hyun-Kyung and Dan Young-dal, who are Korean Immigrants.
Raised in Glendale, California, Joe Hahn is a second-generation Korean American in nationality and holds Asian ethnicity.
Hahn graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale in 1995. Later he joined Art Center of Design in Pasadena but could graduate.
Joe Hahn began his career as a DJ during his high school and learned illustration at the Art Center College of Design in California. During his college days, Hahn met Mike Shinoda and became a member of his band, Xero, which was later renamed as Linkin Park.
Hahn was listed as Chairman on the back cover of Linkin Park's first remix album Reanimation. He has also directed several of Linkin Park's music videos including, From The Inside, What I've Done, Numb, Somewhere I belong, New Divide, Iridescent, and Bleed it Out.
Besides his work in music, Hahn has also credited special effects work on the miniseries, Frank Herbert's Dune and The X-Files. Moreover, he has also directed a short movie called The Seed.
Joe Hahn became first Korean American to achieve a Grammy when the band won the 2002 award for Best Hard Rock Performance. In 2011, Hahn designed a helmet of a Formula1 driver, Kamui Kobayashi.
On 15 February 2005, Joe Hahn married his first wife, Karen Benedict. However, the couple divorced after 4 years of their marriage. The reason behind their divorce is yet to be revealed.
On 21 October 2012, Hahn married his second wife, Heidi Woan. The pair met in the forts at Paris in 2010. Since their marriage, the couple shares a daughter together named Lola Hahn.
Joe Hahn earns a decent amount of money as a DJ, director, musician and visual artist. He also owns a luxury car, Mercedes Benz CLS 63 ($131,895). The famous DJ programmer has won two Grammy Awards and sold more than sixty million albums worldwide.
